Conditions of Play.

Competitions.

  • Only financial members are eligible to win trophies.

  • Competition entry fees shall be set by the Committee (presently $5.00).

  • All players should pay competition entry fees and record names on the Start Sheet.

  • The times sheet will be adhered to whenever possible, however the Starter or Match Committee may vary hit off times.

  • Play shall be in fours unless directed by Starter or Match Committee.

  • Hit off times from 7.00am until 1.30pm BUT CARDS MUST BE RETURNED TO MATCH COMMITTEE BY 5.00pm.

  • Play from 1st or 10th tee unless otherwise directed by Starter.

  • Only players with registered handicaps shall enter competitions.

  • Maximum handicap for MEDAL, SPECIAL and GOLD LETTER events is 27.

  • Players to play off their handicap displayed on the day of play.

Countbacks
Will decide ties unless otherwise stated in Conditions of Play.

Method of Matching Cards
Shall be as recommended in the Rules of Golf Appendix.

Motorized Golf Karts
May only be used in Special and Gold Letter events by those members who are eligible to use a Kart to play throughout the year.

Player Responsibilities

  • Check and record correct score.

  • Check and record correct handicap on card.

  • Ensure card is signed by self and marker.

  • Return card to Match Committee.

Better Times Cup

  • To be awarded to the player who has the best nett score over two specified stroke rounds.

  • Ties to be decided by countback.

Handicap Divisions
When possible divisions will be:
Fields of 50 players
A Grade 0 – 12
B Grade 13 – 18
C Grade 19+

Fields of LESS THAN 50
A Grade 0 – 15
B Grade 16+


Medal Rounds

  • Best nett score will be declared the winner.

  • Ties will be conducted over the next Medal round.

  • Handicaps for players contesting tied Medal shall be as previous round.

  • Maximum Handicap 27.

  • Only Club Members are eligible to win Medal.

Club Foursomes

  • To be played for by one Stroke round of Straight Foursomes with the lowest nett score being the winner.

  • Handicaps are added then halved.

  • Ties to be decided by countback.

Medal of Medallists

  • To be contested during the November Medal round.

  • Participants are the 12 monthly Medal winners from the previous November through to October.

  • Ties shall be decided by countback.

  • Handicaps to be played off the board as displayed on the day of play.

  • Hit off from 11:30am.

H.B.Stewart Mixed 4BBB PAR
Played over 18 holes.

George Hall Mixed Foursomes
Played over 18 holes.

Mens Club Championship.

  • To be contested in three divisions – Open for every male member of the Club. B Grade for handicaps 13 – 18. C Grade 19 and above.

  • Two qualifying rounds of Stroke play shall decide the top 8 qualifiers in each grade in each division to advance to the Match Play competition.

  • At no time during the round shall handicaps be considered.

  • A player may qualify for either the grade in which his handicap dictates or the Open. If a B Grade player qualifies for the Open and chooses to take up this option, number 9 qualifier shall be included in the space vacated.

  • Ties for position and place after the qualifying rounds shall be decided by sudden death until a decision is reached

  • Preliminary Matches will tee off from 11.30am and be played over 18 holes.

  • Ties after 18 holes will be decided by sudden death.

  • Final rounds for B Grade and C Grade will be over 18 holes teeing off at 12 noon. FINAL OF THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP WILL BE OVER 36 HOLES at a time decided by the Captain.

Junior Club Championship.

  • One qualifying round of stroke play shall decide the top four qualifiers and a seeded draw made for the Match Play section of the competition

  • At no time shall handicaps be considered.

  • Ties after the qualifying round shall be decided by countback.

  • Match Play over 18 holes.

  • Ties in Match Play shall be decided by sudden death following the prescribed number of holes.

  • Matches shall be decided on the day laid down in the programme, at a time directed by the Match Committee.

C.C. Fisher Doubles Knockout

  • The C.C.Fisher Doubles Knockout is a handicap event.

  • Following one Qualifying round of Stableford, the top 8 pairs will qualify for Match Play.

  • Ties will be decided by countback.

  • Draw for Match Play by Lot and not seeded draw.

  • Match Play to begin at 11.30am off first tee.

  • Match to be played over 18 holes under the rules applying to Handicap Match Play, with strokes given as received under the system adopted by the A.G.U.

  • Ties after 18 holes shall be decided by sudden death until a decision is reached. Strokes shall be given as per previous 18 holes.

  • Players to play off their handicap displayed on the board on day of play.

  • Matches to be played on the day and time laid down in the programme, at the time directed by the Match Committee.

  • The above condition can be varied at the Captain’s discretion with the exception of the Final, which must be played on the day laid down in the programme.

R.S.L Singles Knockout

  • The RSL Singles Knockout is a handicap event.

  • Following one round of stroke play, the top 32 players will qualify for Match Play.

  • Ties in qualifying round decided by countback.

  • Draw for Match Play by Lot and not seeded draw.

  • Matches conducted over 18 holes and under the rules of golf applying to Handicap Match Play as adopted by the A.G.U.

  • Ties after 18 holes of Match Play shall be decided by sudden death until a decision is reached. Strokes shall be given as they were during the round.

  • Players to play off their handicap displayed on the board on day of play.

  • Matches to be played on the day and time laid down in the programme, at the time directed by the Match Committee.

  • The above condition can be varied at the Captain’s discretion with the exception of the Final, which must be played on the day laid down in the programme.

James Rennick Trophy

  • To be played over 54 holes of Stroke play (three 18 holes).

  • Handicaps to be adjusted between rounds, players playing off the handicap displayed on the board on the day of play.

  • Nett score over 54 holes the winner being the player with the lowest aggregate score.

  • Final eighteen holes top eight players to hit off at 12.15pm in seeded draw.

  • Ties will be decided by an 18 hole play off on a day decided by Match Committee with players to play off handicap as on final round of play.

G.J Bolton Trophy

  • To be awarded to the player who records the best four nett scores out of the six medal rounds from APRIL to SEPTEMBER each year.

  • Ties shall be decided by using the 5th Medal round and then the 6th.
